Significance of initial interpolation in band-limited signal interpolation
In this correspondence, we present an improved version of the Papoulis algorithm for band-limited signal interpolation. This algorithm uses the concept of initial interpolation. The justification for initial interpolation is developed only through experimental studies. We show that the performance of the interpolation scheme depends on the number and distribution of the known data samples.
متن کاملVTLN in the MFCC Domain: Band-Limited versus Local Interpolation
We propose a new easy-to-implement method to compute a Linear Transform (LT) to perform Vocal Tract Length Normalization (VTLN) on truncatedMel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCCs) normally used in distributed speech recognition. The method is based on a Local Interpolation which is independent of the Mel filter design. Local Interpolation (LILT) VTLN is theoretically and experimentally comp...
متن کاملEvaluation of Similarity Measures for Template Matching
Image matching is a critical process in various photogrammetry, computer vision and remote sensing applications such as image registration, 3D model reconstruction, change detection, image fusion, pattern recognition, autonomous navigation, and digital elevation model (DEM) generation and orientation. The primary goal of the image matching process is to establish the correspondence between two ...
متن کاملFast Method for Robust Template Matching
In this paper, we propose a fast algorithm for speeding up the process of template matching that uses M-estimators for dealing with outliers. We propose a particular image hierarchy called the p-pyramid that can be exploited to generate a list of ascending lower bounds of the minimal matching errors when a non-decreasing robust error measure is adopted. Then, the set of lower bounds can be used...
متن کاملA New Method for Band-limited Imaging with Undersampled Detectors
Since its original use on the Hubble Deep Field, “Drizzle” has become a de facto standard for the combination of images taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. However, the drizzle algorithm was developed with small, faint, partiallyresolved sources in mind, and is not the best possible algorithm for high signal-tonoise unresolved objects. Here, a new method for creating band-limited images from u...
